I chose this one for the children who hear “don’t touch that!” and immediately want to know what happens if they do.

Doug is curious, impulsive and wonderfully chaotic — which makes him very easy for little readers to recognise. I love that the story lets children laugh at the consequences while gently exploring impulse control without ever feeling like a lesson.
