The Gruffalo

Lukas’s Little Reader Moment - He gets very quiet just before we see the Gruffalo! We cheer together for the brave mouse who scared the Gruffalo away!

A clever, funny adventure about a little mouse who proves that being small can be a very big advantage.

Why I chose it

I chose this one for the children who love a story they can join in with — especially when they already know what the Gruffalo looks like and are waiting for him to appear!

The brilliant rhyme, repetition and wonderfully funny characters make this one of those books that children quickly learn to “read” along with you. And underneath the fun is a lovely message about cleverness, confidence and thinking on your feet.

Why you’ll love it

• 🐭 A clever little hero children will root for
• 📖 Fantastic rhyme and repetition for reading aloud
• 🌲 A story children come back to again and again
